Costs

I price my shadowboxes based on the time spent working, and I charge $40 per hour. The median time spent on a shadowbox is 10 hours, so most of my works will be around the $400 mark, plus materials and shipping.

Besides the basic labor costs, there are also the following extra charges:

• Materials: the cost cards needed to create the shadowbox; varies depending on the actual card. For printed proxies, there is a flat $15 fee per A4 sheet used.
• Shipping = $20 in Europe and $25 international. This service is provided via the national post, but I can also ship via DHL on request, but the costs vary depending on destination and will most likely be several times higher.

Commission process

1. I will evaluate the artwork desired for the shadowbox using a cutting plan created digitally; the number of cut pieces and the complexity of the cuts dictates the number of hours I expect to work on that project.

2. If there are other specific requests, I will add the time needed to the base estimate. Some examples:

   • Extended art = generally around 2 extra hours for preparing the artwork, so $80;
   • Hearthstone legendary frame, or other complex frames = generally around 2 extra hours, so $80;

   These can obviously vary from project to project.

   Note: I no longer offer the LED & metal leaf foil options.

3. You will receive a full quote, including materials and shipping costs, as well as a time estimate; I have a queue of commissions, so sometimes I might not start working on your commission immediately.

4. If you agree to commission the project, I will request a $200 deposit, to ensure commitment.

5. Once the deposit is secured, I will order the necessary materials, or print them, depending on the case.

6. When I get to your commission spot, I am going to ask for a final confirmation and get started on the shadowbox. You will receive frequent updates during the process, as well as insights into my work.

7. After the shadowbox is finished, you will receive high quality photos and videos of it, detailing every aspect. If there is no issue with it, I will request the rest of the payment.

8. When the commission is paid in full, I will ship it tracked and insured, and it will take 1-2 weeks to arrive internationally.
