I was super excited about this project, as it has a really popping color scheme, and I absolutely love building 3D wings!

I printed this one on Platinum Glossy Canon Photo Paper, it's the first one I use this paper for. I normally use Glossy II Canon Photo Paper, but it has several drawbacks, so I wanted to try something new. While the Platinum paper is easier to cut and feels more solid, as it has a bigger weight, it doesn't really hold shaping, and the glue I use has a hard time adhering to this paper.

Fitting out the pieces, to see if I have everything I need.

Assembly was pretty straightforward, with no complex perspective. The biggest issue was actually the glue giving me a hard time.

I initially wanted to make the wings somewhat simpler, in big layers, but I did not like the outcome at all. It was way too simple, having a very flat look.

So I decided to redo the wings and cut out every feather! 🤪

The black felt a bit too powerful on these individual wings, so I decided to mix some white acrylic paint with a bit of water and some resin pigment I had with a very vibrant violet color.

The fully processed wing pieces are really a sight to behold. I love how they look in an exploded view display. I also etched all feathers, to make them look more feather-y, with details that were not originally present in the artwork.

And they look even more amazing assembled. The edge color is perfect for the artwork style and color palette.
